San Isidro Labrador is a simple farmer wholly devoted to God. There are numerous marvelous incidents in his life as laborer and servant of God.
Everyday he never fail to go to all Churches (pilgrimage) and pray to God which causes him to be delayed going to farm. He put his faith into labor by finishing it marvelously surpassing others despite being late. This is because God assisted him during his labor for putting his spiritual matters first before the temporal ones. He is also love animals. On one occasion during the winter, he saw flock of doves in a tree branch. He realized that these birds are in the brink of starvation. Moved by pity towards them, he gave them grains that is intended for his own needs. When others saw him, they mocked him for being stupid on wasting grains for those birds. But as they milled the grains they found that bag of flour that should be half empty is now fully filled.
The image above portrays San Isidro Labrador kneeling while praying with angels plowing the fields in the background. This image has miraculous story. San Isidro is working under his landowner, a knight. One worker in the adjoining field complained to the knight accusing him of neglecting his work. Hearing this the knight is became dubious and spied on San Isidro. Seeing him pilgrims on Churches the knight was irritated due to his negligence and decided to confront him. As the knight made his way, by divine power, he saw two white yoke of oxen but not his own and plowing efficiently alongside with San Isidro. Upon second glance the knight saw no one except him in the field. Stunned and returning to his senses the knight asked San Isidro about the companion helping him, but he responded that he did not summoned anybody except God and always Him for assistance. This miracle left great impression to many up to this day is evident in his [San Isidro] image.
Last May 15, we [Jesus to Mankind] were blessed by invitation of Fr. Gam to attend their fiesta honoring San Isidro Labrador. That day, those who already had Sacrament of Confession and prayed for the intention of the Holy Father (Pope Benedict XVI) obtained plenary indulgence. One notable incident that happened that day is the rain. We attended the 10 a.m. mass celebration and during the Offertory, Consecration Liturgy and end of the mass it rained. Few minutes after the rain ceased.
By 1pm there was another schedule for mass and I was at the Blessed Sacrament on that time. I observe that the whole duration of the mass celebration it was raining. And again a few minutes later the rain stopped.
This a very proof that God blessed the San Isidro Parish because of the downpour of rain since in history, there are many incidents which God delayed rain and He bestow the rain connection to San Isidro after his death. Many of these miracles can be read in this site: http://pages.pomona.edu/~kbw14747/isidro.htm. Another confirmation of God's blessing is the testimony of my co-member when she went to her project site few distance from the parish. She said that there is no rain on her site and the sun was brightly shining that day. This concludes that rain was poured down on areas which are part of San Isidro Parish.
After the Mass celebration we greeted Fr. Gam and in response he blessed us.
So for those who are planning to climbed the OsmeƱa Peak or Casino Peak don't forget to visit the San Isidro Parish first to ask God for protection and for the intercession of San Isidro Labrador for sunny/good weather during your climb.
