My favorite till now is the Taiwanese novel written by Yu Wo translated by PR. The book is called Wu Ming Qi Shi, in English translation of the book is " The Legend of Sun Knight". This novel is divided into 8 Volumes. Now I'll try to give you brief information of this Novel.
This novel depicts contrasting character of the leader of the 12 Holy Knight, he is called Sun Knight. In this novel, the continent is divided by religion so every continent has their own "god". Under each "god" has their own church. One of the best known is Church of the God of Light. Their best asset is the Twelve Holy Knights that maintained the church. This 12 Holy Knights has maintained the personality and appearance of the original holy knights throughout the years. They also maintained the name, meaning when the knight in-training will change on how they will be addressed and change their appearance, if necessary, to suit the knight title they will be assuming.
That is the spice of this story that made me hooked. Throughout the story you will discover the true personality of each Knights are almost askew to what they project in public. They are great actors with great combat and political skill.
Sun Knight
The Sun Knight is the leader of the 12 Holy Knight.
Appearance: golden hair (just like the sun), very fair skin (to the point all women including princess envy him) and blue eyes
Personality: Benevolent - even if you will trample many time he would still forgive you
Closest to the "God of Light" - he is very dedicated to "god of light" so he is doomed to be single forever. Every time he opens his mouth he never fail to mention the "God of Light"
Smiles all the time - in his eyes everything is beautiful that is why he smiles to all people he meet.
No vices - it was said the he easily got drunk. He turns red on the first cup, had headache on the second cup and got wasted on the third cup.
Best friend of Earth Knight and enemy of Judgement Knight
AND YET ALL OF THIS APPEARANCE IS FRAUD!!!! The current, 38th generation Sun Knight aside from appearance there is nothing to him the resembles the character to being Sun Knight. I got a good laugh every time I discover the real him. Actually he is quite pitiful, many times he had been mistaken to be cleric than a knight because he is very lousy in sword fight. He is considered to be the leader of the Knights and yet his vice-captain is way stronger than him.
Benevolent - NO. He will always think revenge even if you are on fair sex. Just like the a certain princess who had harmed Leaf Knight. Sun gave Princess Alice a recipe in order to have a smooth and fair skin in exchange but the outcome is dark skin. Looking into the recipe, the formula spelled out “R-E-V-E-N-G-E F-O-R L-E-A-F. Revenge for Leaf! The 11 Holy Knight had rules :“No matter how weak the Sun Knight looks, never ruffle his feathers”
Closest to the "God of Light". Hah I don't know in which part. In the first part of the volume when Sun is passing through where female clerics are he would gracefully (slowly) walk in order to "record". After recording, in his room he would retrieve the "record" and leisurely view the appearance of female clerics. This action was credited to 37th Sun Knight his teacher.
Smiles all the time - But in truth he rarely smiles from the bottom of his heart.
No vices - In truth he is already a drinking fiend at the age of 12 all thank to the training of the 37th Sun Knight.
Best friend of Earth Knight and enemy of Judgement Knight. In reality its the opposite. You'll know when you read the novel.
Okay I've mentioned a lot of spoilers here. But it is not only Sun Knight who has best acting skills.
Storm Knight blue haired carefree, footloose charmer but the truth is: he dyed his hair, workaholic to the point of collapsing and very shy. It took his teacher 3 years to train him to wink toward women.
Earth Knight hazel eyed stutter tongued knight - mirror of innocence. But don't get fooled of his stutters because he is lecherous knight taking advantage stammering in order to get women.
Ice Knight cold-hearted and expressionless knight. In his childhood he struggled to show an expressionless face because he is such a warm child. Though he is expressionless now, he show his warmth through baking. Sun's favorite is the blueberry-flavored shaved ice. And Sun consider him to be perfect "housewife" unfortunately he is a man.
Among the 12 Knights my favorite is Judgement Knight. I won't tell why, you will know when you read the novel.

I also like how the author present the perspective of men in praising other men's handsomeness. Some of this lines are:
“This guy is so handsome that it’s unreasonable!” Earth mumbled indignantly.
I had already known that he was so handsome that it was almost a crime. - Sun
there was Awaitsun around, stealing our followers with his handsomeness that violated all rules. -Sun
Good, warm-hearted” faction of Holy Knights
Cruel, cold-hearted” faction of Holy Knights
Final thought, the reason I favor this novel is primarily of the personalities of each characters. Each characters have their own distinction, thus you can remember all of their names.
And because of this post I think, I'll re-read the whole novel.
